Hardwick Hall

Hardwick Hall, Harwick Hall, Derbyshire, S445QJ

Hardwick Hall: Hardwick Hall seems to be more glass than stone, with massive windows stretching almost from floor to ceiling in every room on every floor. Hardwick Hall is one of Britains foremost Elizabethan houses and is a magnificant statement and wealth and authority of its builder, Bess of Hardwick.

Hardwick contains a remarkable collection of 16th Century furniture and paintings and large collection of huge tapestries and of needlework that cover many of the walls of the rooms and staircases. There is a cafe and National Trust gift shop.
