Psychobilly legends The Guana Batz are back on tour, but not as you've seen them since 1987Their classic 'Live Over London' album was the soundtrack for many a psychobilly's youthA gate-fold sleeved way into the Klub Foot for those kids living out in the sticks and beyond that never set attended the still mourned home of psychobillyIt was even more special for those regulars of the Clarendon in Hammersmith, there on the two nights that the album was recorded, a vague memory immortalised in wax, well most people were young and on snakebite after all
The cover for the 14 track album featured the classic line-up of Pip, Stu, Sam and Diddle, except for the recording itself Diddle had been incapacitated, 'Run over by a Dinky toy' quipped Pip as their regular sticks man, arm in plaster, guided replacement drummer Ginger on stageNot that the scene veteran really needed it, he slotted right inThe resulting live album made number 5 in the UK indie charts where the Batz had been a regular feature
The years have rolled on since those nights in the Klub FootSadly, Diddle passed away in 2001 having already left the band, Sam quit in 1992 but the Pip and Stu kept gigging with various rhythm sections ever sinceSomething very special is happening this November, the 'Live Over London' line-up are getting together again for a one-off tourPip, Stuart, Sam and Ginger are hitting the road to recreate those heady days of psychobilly abandonThe tour takes them to, Gierle in Belgium Amsterdam, Hamburg, Bristol, Stoke and of course LondonThis is will be your last chance to see these guys together againIn November 2020 it's 1987 again but for just a few nights only
