Peninsula Arts Contemporary Music Festival

Plymouth University, Friday, 10 February 2012 - Sunday, 12 February 2012

Peninsula Arts Contemporary Music Festival: The 2012 Peninsula Arts Contemporary Music Festival - Explore, Dream, Discover - embraces the achievement of 150 years of higher education in Plymouth. The festival runs from Friday 10 to Sunday 12 February 2012.

Now in its eighth year, this is one of the UK's most innovative festivals of contemporary music, with the 2012 programme exploring the theme of creativity at the crossroads of music, science and technology. This year's programme includes: a remix of the iconic second movement of Beethoven's 7th Symphony; three works spanning the career of innovative composer Eduardo R. Miranda and an invitation for the audience to join an iOrchestra with their mobile phones. There will also be a sound performance controlled by a mind reading' device for the physically disabled, and a flute multimedia piece accompanied by visuals and sounds from a composer's live hallucinations on stage.

The festival is open to anyone and would make an ideal family day out. It is held in varuous venues within the Plymouth University Campus.
