Living Coasts, Torquay, Devon, TQ12BG

Living Coasts: Take a fantastic journey around the coastlines of the world without leaving Torquay! Welcome to Living Coasts, Paignton Zoos new visitor attraction in Torquay.

Living Coasts is a unique, world class aquatic visitor attraction, focusing on the conservation of coastal and marine life around the globe. It has been developed by Paignton Zoo, with financial support from the South West Regional Development Agency and the European Regional Development fund.

Living Coasts features a range of fascinating coastal creatures from loud and loveable penguins to playful fur seals, colourful puffins to sea ducks - theyre all at home in this amazing new environment.

There are reconstructed beaches, cliff-faces and an estuary. A huge meshed aviary allows the birds to fly free over your head, while special acrylic tunnels give stunning crystal clear views of the birds and seals underwater.

Then relax in the water-side cafe with its stunning views across Tor Bay, where you can enjoy morning coffee, lunch or a real Devon cream tea - all with the best view in South Devon. Living Coasts also has a well-stocked shop in the style of a colonial harbour, with gifts and souvenirs for everyone.

FEATURETandem skydive with Red Letter Days

Throwing yourself out of a plane at 10,000 feet might be considered utter madness. But if close friends start wondering aloud about your sanity (or the contents of your will), you can reassure them that you'll be attached (literally) to an expert instructor and that, frankly, you're in for an experience so exhilarating that you'll probably never stop talking about it.

FEATUREBritain's Top 10 Tourist Attractions

It's no surprise that most of the top 10 visitor attractions in Britain are in our capital city, London. However, with Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Alton Towers bucking the trend, there's much to be seen outside of London. Why not take a look.
