Stardust: Not only is the Queen celebrating her Diamond Jubilee in 2012 but also the country will play host to the world's biggest sporting event during the summer, the Olympic games. We plan to celebrate throughout the year as we continue to provide the very best in variety with an all-new show, STARDUST. The Babbacombe Theatre invites you to come along and celebrate in style!
Expect to be star struck with the record-breaking amount of comedy & magical highlights, the fancy footwork and memorable musical numbers performed by an array of talented artiste. When likened to the dedication of our Team GB athletes, this cast will all be Going for Gold!'
Danny Posthill, a new headlining act for the venue is a versatile and international comedian, he jets around at Warp Speed' and is renowned for making people laugh in all corners of the world a truly global artiste to lead Team Stardust'!
Ben Nickless, the man with many voices.and quick changes, returns for his second consecutive season. Whilst still only a child he would wish When I Grow Up - I want to dress in ladies heels and wear pretty wigswell its worked for him as some of his most popular impressions are of some of the most recognised female singers who between them have probably looked up into the universe whilst also Wishing On A Star', for stardom, see how many times you spot Ben in a dress-he obviously followed His Hearts Desire'!
Torbay's Got Talent a show we have hosted for 5 years, to discover new talent, is how we came to find not only one of the acts performing here this evening, but three! 2009 winner Holly Cosgrove; is returning to the stage having received much critical acclaim in the press and with our audiences in last years show. Holly has a superb vocal ability and outstanding stage presence, a committed young lady who settles for nothing but her best as she aims to Reach For The Stars'
Elmer & Sampson, otherwise, Barry & Luke won second place in last years TGT. They are a new double act making their theatre debut, they sing, dance, play musical instruments and have a penchant for comedy and as we all know variety is a national institution, and like the royal family, 2012 is a milestone for them all.
Eloise Cole made a lasting impression, so much so, once seen never forgotten with her striking ability to hit all the right notes. If you think you have seen her before you are probably right. Eloise in 2009 performed with the girl band Killer Heels and reached Boot Camp on ITV's, X Factor.
Stardust, celebrates the old and the new, with both the 25th anniversary of Phantom Of The Opera and the 60th anniversary of the film West Side Story being featured in the show. We also celebrate one of the worlds most recognisable solo artist, Michael Jackson as well as a group that continues to sell out, even though the lead vocalist is no longer with us, Queen. Comedy Icons and TV favourites are regenerated too, will you be able to work out which one is Who'. . And as if that was not enough there will be an extract from an all new show that made its West End debut at the end of 2011, Matilda.
Danze Fantazy, the resident team of dancers, is a bevy of gorgeous young ladies who continue to raise the standard every season. There is never a moment whilst they are on stage that their flame ever dims, as they carry the torch for Team Stardust' and keep the pace of the show on track! Albeit, choreographer Georgia Lee creates the fabulous routines and Musical Director, Pete Leonard orchestrates the music that enables everyone to shine.
Like any relay, its imperative to start the race with speed, maintaining the speed at every pass of the baton, and starting to train and gain experience from a young age is why we encourage the children to take to the stage. This year is no exception as we welcome a fabulous group of up and coming stars, flying the flag - The Juniorz'.
