A Town is Bourne Theatre & Performing Arts

a_town_is_bourne

Local families living in and around the chine where the Bourne stream meanders into the sea, are invited to put forward suggestions for a name for the developing area between Christchurch and Poole. There is a substantial cash prize for the winner. It also tells the story of three young ladies who are looking for husbands. Two of the ladies, Elizabeth (Beth) Tapps-Gervis and Emily Tregonwell, are from very wealthy families. The third contender, the evil Saffron, aims to spoil their plans. The only eligible young man around is the poor but very handsome, local fisherman Perry Winkle (Principle boy and son of the Dame, Cherry Winkle). The show has new and catchy songs, which I’m sure you will be singing and humming on your way home. The questions are: - what will the name of the new town be? Who will win the prize money, making them very rich? And who will win the heart of Perry Winkle? There’s only one way to find out – come and enjoy the fun!
