Anthony Bamber Exhibition: Anthony Bamber's landscape paintings are an exuberant celebration of the English countryside, in particular the Yorkshire Dales. These paintings seem to generate a feeling of wellbeing. They are modern' in that they are very much of their time, whilst acknowledging those artists in the landscape tradition whose influence they have absorbed: Constable, Turner, Cotman, Palmer and Czanne. At the same time these works evoke our own memories of nature, the smell of damp grass after a shower of rain, the sounds of a sunny day, and the intensity and vastness of a blue sky
