Tutankhamun Exhibition, Dorchester, Dorset, DT11UW

Tutankhamun Exhibition: On 26th November 1922 that Howard Carter uttered the now immortal words - 'Yes, wonderful things, and gold, everywhere the glint of gold!' - in answer to Lord Carnarvon's question 'Can you see anything?' The long hunt for Tutankhamun's tomb was over. You too can experience the magnificence and wonder of the world's greatest discovery of ancient treasure at The Tutankhamun Exhibition, in Dorchester, Dorset.

The Exhibition is the only one of its kind outside Egypt. Come face to face with Tutankhamun's mummified body, which was specially recreated for The Exhibition using new scientific techniques. This is a unique opportunity to view Tutankhamun, as his actual mummy is enclosed in the sarcophagus in the tomb in the Valley of the Kings.

Be present at the world's greatest discovery of ancient treasure. See Lord Carnarvon and Lady Evelyn as they watch Howard Carter open a hole in the sealed door. Listen to their excited words, and then move into the ante-chamber filled with its wonderful treasures just as they saw them in 1922. Smell the pleasant odours of the funerary oils. Enter the burial chamber and witness Howard Carter raising the golden coffins from the sarcophagus, where the royal mummy had lain for over 3000 years. The whole scene is completed by audio commentaries and superb wall paintings.

Finally in the Hall of Treasures marvel at the superb facsimiles of Tutankhamun's greatest golden treasures including the famous Funerary Mask and the Harpooner. The Tutankhamun Exhibition is a complete experience incorporating sight, sound and smell. It has faithfully reproduced and recreated Tutankhamun's tomb, treasures, and mummified body in innovative and exciting ways, producing an amazing experience - spanning time itself. Featured in many major documentaries for television The Tutankhamun Exhibition is not to be missed.
