Monkey World

Monkey World, Wool, Dorset, BH206HH

Monkey World: Set amongst the woodland of Dorset lays 65 acres of sanctuary for over 150 primates. There are currently 56 chimpanzees at Monkey World, which makes it the largest group outside Africa. At the park visitors can see more than 150 primates of 15 different species.

Don't expect chimps in flowery frocks slurping cups of tea here most of the primates you'll meet have been rescued from sad former lives, and now they hang out in natural family groups across the park's 65 acres.

Monkey World's woodland trails offer lots of good picnic potential, and a witty new addition is the two-acre children's playground designed as a carbon copy of a typical ape enclosure, so your own little monkeys can go native.

Details: open daily, 10am-5pm
