Travel back in time and let J.M. Barrie take you through the theatre that inspired his love of the stage-and led him to write his most famous of plays, Peter Pan.JM Barrie spent the 'happiest days' of his life in Dumfries from the ages of 13-18 and played pirate games in the garden at Moat Brae on the River Nith. He was later to say:
"For our escapades in a certain Dumfries garden, which is enchanted land to me, were certainly the genesis of that nefarious work, Peter Pan".
The Theatre Royal provided the young Barrie with his first experience of plays, acting and stage craft and this tour celebrates it's influence on a young imagination which was to go on to fill theatres, cinemas and inspire new stories across the globe. 'It was the first theatre I entered and so the one I like best"
