Bishop Auckland Town Hall: Bishop Auckland Town Hall is a 19th century building in the style of a French chteaux. Completely renovated in 1993 it now is the central venue for arts in Bishop Auckland and surrounding area. As well as a Tourist Information Centre, Art Gallery, Cafe and Library we have a theatre / cinema that seats 210. Our season of events includes professional theatre, the best in live touring musicians, literary events, crafts for adults and children, art exhibitions and films. The Library has free internet access for anyone wanting to keep in touch with family and friends, and a good section on local and family history.

The Art Gallery is free to visit and has a changing exhibition every 4 weeks.

The Laurel Cafe serves a wide range of refreshments from lightsnacks through to full meals.

Stan Laurel lived much of his early life in Bishop Auckland and we have a small display of items related to him in the Laurel Cafe.
