Tanfield Railway: Worlds oldest exisiting railway, originally opened in 1725. 3 mile steam passenger railway between Sunniside, Causey Arch and East Tanfield. Loco and carriage collection and Britiains oldest engine shed built in 1854.

Open: Daily 10am - 5pm

Train Times: Summer Sunday, Bank Holiday Monday and Wednesday and Thursday in summer school holidays 11am - 4pm. Winter Sunday 11.30am - 3.15pm

Cost: Admission free.

Trains: Adult £4.50, Child 2.50 (under 5s free), OAP £2.50, Family Ticket £11.50 (all subject to review in 2004).
