The Champions League Final is the biggest single sporting event in the World in 2017 and the Women’s Final is recognised as the pinnacle of Women’s club football.
The UEFA Champions Festival will also kick off on Thursday, 1 June with over 200,000 people expected to attend the free event in Cardiff Bay. There will be lots to see and do on each day of the festival including the opportunity to have your photograph taken for free with the UEFA Champions League Trophy.
The Champions Main Stage at the Fans’ Festival will host a variety of global and local artists, DJs and bands are set to perform throughout each day. In the Bay the Champions Floating Pitch will be installed, which will host community activity, including walking football, refugee teams from Cardiff, Swansea and Newport, a deaf football friendly international, learning disability and youth age groups matches. Inside the iconic Wales Millennium Centre guests can take a look at the UEFA Champions Gallery, a museum celebrating the UCL’s history. The Virtual Champions Arena will offer an immersive virtual reality experience in which YOU could be part of the finalists’ “Road to Cardiff”. It promises to be a sure draw for all those wanting to soak up the excitement surrounding the final.
Tickets for the final went on sale in February, to coincide with the ‘100 Days To Go’ to the UEFA Women’s Champions League Final countdown. To mark this milestone, 100 members of Cor Glanaethwy, a Welsh choir, who came third in Britain’s Got Talent, performed a flash mob on unsuspecting visitors to Cardiff’s Central Library.
