5 days of walking fun with 30 walks led by experienced walk leaders in the stunning Lower Wye Valley on the borders of England and Wales
This annual festival aims to celebrate our stunning landscape and heritage with walks for all abilities ranging between 2 and 11 miles led by experienced walk leaders offering you the best walking experience.Join wildlife officers from Natural Resources Wales, Gloucestershire and Gwent Wildlife Trusts or the Curator of Chepstow Museum who will lead a walk in the footsteps of Samuel Taylor Coleridge retracing his steps when he visited Chepstow and walked to Tintern in 1795. Discover hill forts, a WW2 resistance bunker, visit a local ice cream maker, celebrate our local literary hero J K Rowling with a chance to dress up, get up early and listen to a dawn chorus or stay up late and venture out on a night walk. It’s also Chepstow 950th anniversary!
The walking festival provides an opportunity to reunite with friends or meet other people who also share a love of the countryside. It’s also a great way to introduce the children to walking as several of the walks have been designed as family walks. We haven’t forgotten dogs either there is at least one walk every day where dogs are welcome with walks specially devised to avoid stiles and livestock.
So there is just about something for everyone.
