Andy Smith was the first DJ to release a multi-genre mix album on a major labelHis seminal mix-CD The Document hit the streets back in 1998 and became the soundtrack for a generation who'd heard Coldcut's Journeys By DJs but needed to hear more – The Document filled the voidHis appreciation of different genres made Smith the ideal person to provide samples for Portishead's first two albumsHe went on to make his name as their international tour DJ – reflecting their respect for both digging and hip-hop scratch DJ-ing

Andy was included in the Top 20 Greatest DJ's of all time in Music RadarHis latest release is the ‘Reach UP – Disco Wonderland' album that came out on BBE records in Nov 2017Since the Portishead tours he has established himself as an underground producer, working with Scott Hendy (Boca 45) under the name Dynamo ProductionsTheir album Analogue, which notched up a top-ranking five out of five in Mojo magazine, featured San Diego-based MC Profile from the much respected Sound Providers CrewHe has also provided samples for Prodigy hits and Lack of Afro

NICK HALKES

Nick is one of the founders of independent record label XL Recordings where he signed and worked with acts such as House of Pain, SL2 and Liquid before taking up a position as a director at EMI and launching the Positiva labelThe Positiva label enjoyed significant success under Halkes' leadership with artists such as Reel to Real, Alice Deejay, The Bucketheads and more and is now home to David Guetta and Deadmau5, amongst others

As a child, he discovered dance music at a young age, through Al Mathews' Discovatin' show on BBC Radio 1, and it wasn't long before he and a friend took their respective hi-fi systems around town to play music at birthday partiesHe later graduated to playing on hospital radio in Bristol, before following the industry to its natural hub in London
