West Side story Theatre & Performing Arts

Don’t miss this revolutionary milestone of musical-drama history, showing 18 – 21 October only!

Transporting Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to 1950s New York City, two young idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs: the American ‘Jets’ and the Puerto Rican ‘Sharks’. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time.
Arthur Laurents' book remains today as powerful, poignant and timely as ever. The intense, emotional journey is complimented perfectly by Jerome Robbins Tony Award winning choreography, whilst the score by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim is widely regarded as one of the best ever written, with iconic melodies ranging from the powerful "America" and "Tonight" to the hauntingly beautiful "Somewhere".
