Sublime classical music performed by one of London's leading concert pianists in the atmospheric setting of St Martin-in-the-Fields.On Tuesday 27th January at 7.30pm, in the heart of London, the walls of St Martin-in-the-Fields will resound to the music of Gershwin, Chopin, Beethoven and Liszt played by British concert pianist, Warren Mailley-Smith, under the warm flicker of candlelight.
Described as 'Stunning' by Classic FM and 'The embodiment of the modern Romantic Concert pianist’ by Musical Opinion, this outstanding pianist is a favourite at St Martin's with audiences and staff alike. Warren Mailley-Smith has performed for the British Royal Family on many occasions and has given acclaimed solo recitals at Carnegie and Wigmore Halls.
This evening's concert promises to take the listener on a spell-binding journey of moods and emotions. Audiences will be treated to a programme full of poetry and virtuosic display, from Debussy's Clair de Lune, to Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody no 2 in addition to a number of celebrated works by Chopin. The evening concludes with Gershwin's ever popular Rhapsody in Blue, with its powerful melodies, driving rhythms and glittering piano writing in this compelling kaleidoscope of jazz and classical influences.
Resplendent from its recent renovation, the church of St Martin's offers visitors to London a unique concert experience, with its superb acoustic, beautiful interior and the convenience of dining downstairs beforehand in the crypt restaurant.
Set in Trafalgar Square, this beautiful and self-contained venue is conveniently situated in the heart of London’s West End, offering warm, peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of the capital’s winter evening.
