Full Line Up: Martin Rafferty And The Northern City Lights, Broken Lamps, Wyse, Velvet Echoes, Another Summer, Simon James, John Chapman
Hotly-tipped Irish rockers Martin Rafferty And The Northern City Lights will be topping the bill, to support the release of their brand new single, “The Way We Used To Be”. Born and raised in Northern Ireland on a diet of Bruce Springsteen, Oasis, Green Day, Foo Fighters and The Gaslight Anthem, Martin has already fulfilled a dream by recording in the historic Studio 3 at London’s Abbey Road Studios, and has seen a ton of success in the States obtaining airplay on over 200 radio stations and TV networks, including FOX, ESPN and National Geographic to name just a few. In the past two years, Martin Rafferty & The Northern City Lights have toured extensively across the UK and USA, including the MTV Festival in Belfast and Rock The Fort Festival in Texas in front of 20,000 fans, as well as headline slots at London’s O2 Islington Academy, Proud Galleries and Liverpool’s legendary Cavern Club! Big things are certainly on the horizon for these guys!
Bedfordshire five piece, Broken Lamps play indie-rock influenced by the likes of Pavement, Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana. The band formed in 2013, but have recently kicked things up a gear with their live shows and writing and are turning plenty of heads on their local scene. They’ve impressed Absent Kelly at 229 once before, so expectations are high.
Wyse is a singer-songwriter based in London whose distinct sound has already seen her championed by the likes of BBC Radio. Wyse and her band will be showcasing their uplifting, anthemic and criminally infectious sound, and we can’t wait to hear it live.
Plymouth’s Velvet Echoes will be bringing their brand of catchy, driving indie rock and roll to the stage for the evening. Already favourites of their local BBC radio, promoters and crowds alike around the South West, now these guys are ready to show the Capital what they’re made of!
We’ll also be joined by Another Summer. The local London trio will be bringing with them thei, Another Summerk overlaid with distinctive, New Romantic-esque vocals.
Joining us from Preston is Simon James. This Americana singer-songwriter is a staple on his home circuit already and now he's ready to show the Capital his craft.
John Chapman is a Camden singer-songwriter who has previously fronted bands including Atlantic Rising, The Tally and The Voice. He's currently working on new material which we can't wait to hear.
