Beauty and the Beast and Other Lovers of the Rose: Beauty & the Beast and other Lovers of the Rose, by Ben Haggarty & Sherry Robinson

Crick Crack Club performance storytelling at the Soho Theatre, London.

Acclaimed performance storyteller Ben Haggarty, and musician-composer Sherry Robinson make a sortie into the unfathomable mysteries of the heart to ask do we choose love, or does love choose us?' This physical, brooding and compelling performance is full of mythic beauty ' underscored by cello, accordion and hammer dulcimer ' rich, alluring and stunningly composed.

In an unashamedly romantic exploration of the intoxication and brutality of love, lust and betrayal, it draws together comedic games in paradise, a broken vow of chastity, a reunion in death, and culminates in an extraordinary retelling of a seemingly familiar fairytale for grown-ups, which will creep into your waking dream and haunt you with its beauty.

Full of exquisite joy and pain ' just like the real thing.

I was spell-bound' The Times
