Blood Brothers: Blood brothers is without a doubt one of the most successful and loved musicals in London's West End.
Written by Willy Russell, the story is a tale of twin brothers who were separated at birth and found themselves on two different worlds.
The cause of the separation was occasioned by the financial woes of their single mother.
They are brought up in completely different social set ups, and their mother's endless efforts to stop them from discovering the truth leads to a tragic, yet dramatic conclusion.
As they try to overcome the social divisions which puts a barrier to their relationship, they have to face the harsh realities that social barriers bring.
While Eddie proceeds to Oxford University, his twin brother Mickey is caught up in social mess and ends up living a miserable life characterized with crime.
As adults, they find themselves in a rather intertwined love triangle in which they both fall in love with the same girl; a girl who happened to be Mickey's childhood girlfriend.
The play stars Natasha Hamilton, who plays the lead role of Mrs.
Johnstone.
Richard Reynard and Stephen Palfreman play twin brothers Eddie and Mickey respectively.
Other leading cast members include Vivienne Carlyle who stars as Mrs.
Lyons while Philip Stewart is the popular narrator.
The play lasts approximately three hours, and is currently showing at Phoenix Theatres in London.
For over two and a half decades, the play has stood the test of time if the number of awards and the enthusiastic standing ovation it has received is anything to go by.
To say the least, the story is loved by arguably all people in equal measures.
The theatre halls are always flooded by people from all walks of life - children, adults and family members alike.
The play's ability to combine play, music and tragedy appeals to different people in a remarkable way.
