Join Nicola, the Head of the Optimum Nutrition Clinic
- We are told that sugar is bad for us, but surely some is alright, and what is considered a sugary food anyway?- We are told that having high cholesterol is bad for our health, yet at the same time we’re now being advised to eat fat again – why?
- The Five-A-Day guideline has now been increased to 10, but how can I possibly achieve this given my busy lifestyle?
In her role as Head of the Optimum Nutrition Clinic at The Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION), Nicola Moore is faced with questions like this every day. Understanding the best way to eat is a minefield, and the reality is that a One-Size-Fits-All approach simply doesn’t work.
Join Nicola on Tuesday 4th April to learn the basic principles behind eating healthily in a sensible, practical and realistic way. Her aim is to unpick some of the common health and nutrition messages and misconceptions in an informal and interactive talk. Her approach encourages active engagement and conversation about the role of nutrition on health.
Nicola will cover the important role of fats, proteins and carbohydrates in the diet, bringing food to life by explaining how it works in your body to keep you healthy, happy and energised.
You will then enjoy a guided tour of the Richmond Whole Foods Market store, accompanied by Nicola, who will escort you through all departments and will guide you on how to identify healthy options and interpret nutritional labels.
Tickets are £5 (+ booking fee) and include the store tour as well as a complimentary goody bag of little treats to take home.
