The renowned distillery has a portfolio of four Cognacs, with the premium Cognac range being Cognac Park.
Today the two brothers, Lilian and Jérôme Tessendier run the 30 hectare vineyard in the Borderies region - the most coveted area; a distillery at Jarnac situated on the scenic banks of the River Charente; and ageing cellars in the heart of Cognac itself. Jérôme and Lilian blend up to three hundred eaux-de-vie each year, some more than one hundred years old.
The cognacs crafted by Lilian and Jérôme are exported and enjoyed all over the world. The premium Park Cognac was recently awarded the ‘Best of Category 2016’ award by the American Distilling Institute.
From 4 May 2016, PARK Cognac will be stocked at renowned dining in the dark restaurant, Dans le Noir?. It will then be rolled out to other prestigious hotels and restaurants within the UK.
In Dans le Noir’s famous dark room, textures and flavours are heightened as guests completely abandon their visual sense. Diners of the restaurant will be able to taste some of the finest Cognac in the world in complete darkness, providing a unique sensory and social experience.
8 Place du Marché Wine Jérôme and his friends are passionate about modernising the company and developing a wider range of products, branching out beyond Cognac, to other spirits, wines and liqueurs. They are now widening their portfolio, with a new gourmet oriented wine brand: 8 Place du Marché. The brand includes a red, white and rose blend, and semi-sweet.
The wines were created after Jérôme and his friends, Les Gourmets du Vin, travelled around France tasting different grapes from different regions. Eventually, they settled on the South West and the result was 8 Place du Marché. Reflecting on memories he and his friends shared tasting wines and enjoying meals at Number 8 Market Place, Les Gourmets du Vin named the wines in honour of this period in their life.
These wines will also be introduced to the UK market from 4 May 2016.
Note: Distillerie Tessendier & Fils is a family owned and managed business founded in 1880 by Gaston Tessendier.
