In partnership with the Twentieth Century Society, this event marks the publication of their new book, 50 Architects 50 Buildings.
The evening is a celebration of the Twentieth Century Society’s book 50 Architects 50 Buildings, published by Batsford. In the book, architectural journalist Pamela Buxton takes architects back to their chosen buildings to discover what it was that inspired them: Niall to Berkeley Library, Trinity College, Dublin; Peter to the Faculty of Architecture, University of Porto; Sarah to the Byker Estate, Newcastle; and Cany to Unité d’Habitation, Marseilles. The articles were originally commissioned by Building Design magazine as part of its Inspiration feature series.
Each of the four architects will talk about their choices and C20 Society Director, Catherine Croft will chair a panel discussion, also featuring 50 Architects 50 Buildings editor Pamela Buxton, to explore how great buildings of the past inspire the architecture of the future.
