Matilda the Musical: The enchanting story of 'Matilda' has been colorfully recreated into a 5 star musical by Dennis Kelly and musician/comedian Tim Minchin.
The original story was written by the brunt British author, Road Dahl and now it has been reinvented into a musical that has been called 'sublime' by The Telegraph, 'marvelous' by The Sunday Express and the accolades seem never-ending. Road Dahl's 'Matilda' is about a rather extraordinary girl called Matilda who has ordinary but unkind parents.
Matilda at five and half years old is a little genius but her parents have none of her traits.
She has a lovely teacher at school who encourages her but is often curtailed by the nasty headmistress.
Anyhow, events take a rather fascinating turn when Matilda's genius unfolds into something greater, something powerful, something magical and ultimately something life-changing. Matilda is playing at The Cambridge Theatre which is a West End Theatre in the London Borough of Camden.
This is the only theatre showing this extraordinary musical right now.
You will find The Cambridge Theatre at the corner of Seven Dials and Earlham Street. Matilda is the main character, a five and half year old genius.
Secondary characters are her parents, Mr.
and Mrs.
Wormhood.
Matilda forms a very special bond with her loving teacher, Jennifer Honey, who is a central character.
This is definitely one for the family to enjoy together Matilda the Musical was created in order to appeal to all ages but it is more suitable for those over the age of six.
Even though it is mainly aimed at children, it is a human story that will appeal to anyone with a heart. You are bound to enjoy this critically intelligent and acclaimed musical...one that will stretch your imagination and delight you no end.
