Nick Dixon arrives fresh from working with Will Smith on his new movie, performing on Comedy Central, and supporting Europe’s biggest comedi
This is your one chance (outside of the Edinburgh festival) to see him perform what he is already calling his seminal debut hour show.If you somehow still haven’t heard of Nick, you should know that he has appeared twice on the TV show Comedy Central at the Comedy Store, and was one of the standout performers on both occasions.
His YouTube clip from that show led him, in 2017, to be chosen by Will Smith's team to work onset with Will on his new movie (crazy but true). Nick worked directly with Will, watching scenes and coming up with jokes to add to the script in real time.
In 2017 Nick also opened for Gad Elmaleh, Europe's biggest comedian with 7.8 million Twitter followers, for three nights at the Soho Theatre. Before that he supported the mighty Tom Stade on two UK tours.
He smashes all the top clubs in the country, such as The Comedy Store, Glee, and The Stand. He has also performed in LA at clubs like The Improv and The Ice House, as well as touring in Dubai, Doha, and Abu Dhabi.
His style is self-deprecating yet boastful, beautifully-structured yet spontaneous, intelligent, unique, and naturally funny.
This long-awaited show covers topics like breaking up with his fiancée (hilarious), his difficult relationship with his father (comedy gold) and getting mugged in dystopian 2018 London (ROFL).
The fact is, Nick’s life is just harder than yours. But he has made a vow to take life’s lemons and turn them into sweet sweet comedy lemonade, just for you.
Here is what some important people have said about him:
“Nick Dixon has a sparky cynicism that engages while maintaining an edge to his well-crafted jokes, delivered with certainty, earmarking him as a future success” - Chortle
“Well worth looking out for” - Jason Manford
“A superb thinker…he no doubt has a great future in comedy” - Adam Bloom
