The aim ofDear Kelly, #PressLaunch #YouAreBeautifulProject #LooksAreNotEverything# My name is Vivian Moyo the founder of the You Are Beautiful Project. The aim of the project is to change the perception of beauty in the media. We want to teach young girls that looks are not everything but it’s on the inside that counts the most. Schools, Youth Clubs, charity organizations, parents, teenage girls and anyone who is interested in changing the perception of beauty in the media is invited to attend the Re-Launching of the You Are Beautiful Project on the 14th of August 2019 The You are Beautiful Project believes that young girls are under increasing pressure from the media to look a certain way. Eating disorders, self-harming and a lack of confidence in young women indicates an unhealthy lifestyle underpinned by the glorification of stereotypes in the media. The worst cases result to bullying and suicide. We are hosting schools from different boroughs on that night including youth clubs, charity organizations that work with young girls suffering from body image and mental health. We are expecting celebrities such as Stacey Solomon, Gemma Collins, and Stomzey to attend the press launch. Our Approach: You are Beautiful Project We take the message right where our girls are - This means we engage them in schools. On social media and through our magazine. There are currently 32,113 schools in the UK. Of these, 20,925 are primary schools and 4,168 are secondary schools. There are 2,381 independent schools, 1,256 special schools and 351 pupil referral units. Most of the UK's schools are in England. SCHOOL SEMINARS We regularly hold seminars and talks at various schools throughout the London area and beyond SOCIAL MEDIA We make extensive use of our social media presence. We provide information on beauty that would help shape perceptions of beauty We have reached over 765 young girls so far and we aim to reach over 2,000 young girls before the end of this year.
