The Dry House Theatre & Performing Arts

the_dry_house

Moving new drama The Dry House is opening soon at Marylebone Theatre, written by actor and playwright Eugene O’Hare.

Set in County Down, Northern Ireland, The Dry House follows sisters Chrissy and Claire, as Chrissy prepares to go to the dry house to get sober – after one last drink. But Claire, who is battling her own demons, doubts if her sister really means it this time.
This powerful play explores the devastating effects of alcoholism, examines grief in families, and looks at the immensely redemptive power of hope and sisterly love. The Dry House is an emotional rollercoaster, moving from darkly comic to despairing to hopeful, taking the audience on a breathtaking journey through one family’s trauma – and their hopes for the future.
The Dry House stars everyone’s favourite Aunt Sarah in Derry Girls, Kathy Kiera Clarke (Bloody Sunday; The Pale Horse, BBC), as Claire. Chrissy is played by the award-winning actress Mairead McKinley (Translations, National Theatre) and her daughter Heather is played by Carla Langley (The Ferry Man, Broadway and West End; Carnival Row, Amazon Prime).
Marylebone Theatre is London’s newest cross-arts venue, which opened in September 2022 and presents exciting new drama, music, spoken word and art in the heart of London.
