Almost a year to the day, he formed part of an all-star 50WEAPONS showcase, paying tribute to the now sadly defunct label. Few producers embodied the spirit of Modeselektor’s label quite like Bambounou: his tough, funky hybrids of techno and UK bass perfectly suited 50WEAPONS genre-defying aesthetic, and through them the Parisian released seven EPs and two full-length albums. As a DJ, Bambounou is energetic, propulsive and unpredictable, imbued with a precise technique and deep collection of 4/4 bombs old and new. After sadly being forced to cancel his date with us in July due to illness, it’s a pleasure to bring Bambi back to Pickle on 5th November.He’s joined by dance music chameleon Eduardo de la Calle. Across a glittering 13 year production career, under an array of aliases, Madrid-based über producer de la Calle has worked with many of the most important labels of modern times - Hivern Discs, Mule Musiq, Cadenza - as well as fathering his own vinyl-only imprint Analog Solutions. It’s hard to put a fine point on Eduardo’s sound. Equally capable of composing lush, languid soundscapes, exotic tech-house and brutal big room assaults, de la Calle is a truly multi-faceted artist. On 5th November, he stitches together two decades-worth of beautiful electronic music for an extended live set in The Pickle Factory. Support comes from Alex Egan, one of our favourites from the Phonica Records crew.
