"Once upon a time..."Weaving together many of the Brothers Grimm much-loved tales, 'Into The Woods' takes you deep inside the pages of Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Jack (of beanstalk fame), Rapunzel and many other folk stories to see what really happens when we achieve our ‘happy ever after’?
When a Baker and his Wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break her spell. Along the way they encounter many fantastical characters each on their own quests searching for what they desire most. Everyone's wish is granted and so they should all live happily ever after; however the consequences of their actions return to haunt them leading to disastrous results.
With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine this multi-award winning stage musical is one of Sondheim's most popular works, in recent years even being reimagined for the silver screen starring Meryl Streep, Emma Blunt, James Corden and Johnny Depp.
