Choreographer and co-artistic director of Protocol Dance Company, Lanre Malaolu, founder of Miswits Comedy Club, Leanne Lashley and architect Francesc Serra Vila will join our guest panel.
Lanre Malaolu was the movement artist and choreographer on the British Council Film, 'Dear Mr Shakespeare' which was selected for Sundance Film Festival 2017. Last year, he was handpicked from over 1,300 applicants to take part in the Old Vic Theatre's emerging talent scheme, 'Old Vic 12' where he was on placement as a theatre choreographer.
Leanne Lashley is the founder of Miswits Comedy Club, a social enterprise working to support performance artists in east London. Leanne has written, produced and performed her own material at The Soho Theatre and Rich Mix as part of a campaign to provide insights into the social and political issues faced by the LGBT community. She has also worked at Harrow Arts Centre, Harrow Council and The Ryan Theatre. Leanne is a Young Ambassador for The Prince's Trust.
Francesc Serra Vila works mainly in site-specific installations, design for performances and interactive sculptures. His work is driven by his love of physics, materials, structures and movement. He ensures that each of his projects are immersive, site-specific and evolving. Francesc’s work developed on his own or in collaboration with other artists (choreographers, sound and lighting designers), has been presented in cities including Barcelona, Brussels, Cardiff and London.
We'll encourage interaction between attendees on the night. Some free drinks and light refreshments will be available.
