New Comedy Night in Kidderminster September 2022 Theatre & Performing Arts

NEW COMEDY NIGHT COMES TO KIDDERMINSTER

Funhouse Comedy Club, which already runs successful nights at numerous venues across the country, is excited to announce the launch of a brand new comedy night at 45Live, Kidderminster on Friday September 23rd

Funhouse clubs are renowned for having exceptionally friendly audiences and a brilliant atmosphere, which have led to twice winning Best Midlands Comedy Club awards with leading comedy website ChortlePrevious acts to have played its clubs on their road to the top include Sarah Millican, Joe Lycett, James Acaster and Rhod Gilbert, who described the clubs as "among the best anywhere in the world."

Topping the bill is winner of ITV's 'Show Me The Funny' the instantly loveable and unique Patrick Monahan, with his trademark hyperactive and freewheeling charmFollowing the release of his debut DVD he was a guest on Loose Women and also appeared alongside Philip Schofield and Jason Manford on ITV's Comedy AnnualMore recently he appeared on ITV's SplashOf Irish-Iranian decent, but brought up on Teeside he shares tales of his memoriesHe exudes warmth and charisma; his friendly style mixed with his hilarious story telling leaves his audiences wanting for more

Opening the night will be Shazia Mirza, an international award-winning comedian and columnist for the Guardian Weekend magazine who has also guested on 'Have I Got News For You?' From Birmingham, she was previously a science teacher with one of her former pupils being the rapper Dizzee RascalStar of radio and TV she has appeared on 'Last Comic Standing', 'Richard and Judy' and 'The Wright Stuff'Shazia's distinctive act combines a deadpan delivery with observation on her world; her laconic one-liners represent something quite unique in modern comedy

Completing the line-up is Pete Phillipson, originally from Lincolnshire but based in Manchester, he has been building a name for himself on the circuit as a very funny act over the last few years, mixing fast-paced annotations and routines with wonderful characterisations

Compere for the night will be James Cook with his sharp tongue and dry sense of humour he previously worked as a presenter on commercial radio stations, went on air with A-ha and presented Lenny Henry with his 'Walk of Fame'
