An evening of talks, workshops, live drawing, film, music and drinks to celebrate RIBA's latest exhibitions by Pablo Bronstein and George Sa
Conservatism, or The Long Reign of Pseudo-Georgian Architecture, we invite you to an evening of talks, workshops, live drawing, film and music. The evening will explore questions raised around classicist architecture, pastiche and neo-Georgian style raised in Pablo Bronstein’s show and also the George Saumarez Smith (ADAM Architecture) show in The Practice Space.Hear artist Pablo Bronstein and classicist George Saumarez Smith debate 'Pastiche and the Pseudo-Classical' and watch a live drawing marathon evolve as architects, designers and artists bring a building to life through the medium of drawing over three hours. At the end of the evening the works will be collected and donated to charity Article 25 who organise the annual 10×10 Drawing the City fundraising event.
The evening will also include talks by emerging architecture practice APPARATA who have designed the installation in the Foyer and INTBAU - an international network for traditional building, architecture and urbanism, among many others. Visitors will also have the opportunity to take part in hands on activities and workshops throughout the evening.
‘Late’ events at RIBA are a fantastic opportunity for the public to engage in talks, workshops, film screenings and immersive activities throughout the whole 6 floors of the RIBA’s art deco headquarters at 66 Portland Place, London. The evening runs from 6-10pm and we usually have around 1000 people attend throughout the evening.
