Christmas in Victoria
Celebrate Christmas in Victoria with Landsec’s annual charity carol concert at Westminster CathedralLandsec, the property developer responsible for the recent transformation in Victoria, is celebrating the return of its much-loved annual charity Christmas carol concert at Westminster Cathedral this December.
This year’s event is set to bring more festive cheer to Christmas than ever before. The 1,300 guest-strong audience will be treated to the angelic sounds of the Westminster Cathedral Choir and the Victoria Children’s Choir, along with the English Cornett & Sackbut Ensemble - a virtuoso brass ensemble with a host of distinguished recordings to its name.
Attendees will be treated to a selection of readings from a glittering line up of well-known names, including musician, broadcaster and author Cerys Matthews; writer, comedian, and presenter, Frank Skinner, The One Show and Match of the Day’s Adrian Chiles and BBC presenter and journalist Emily Maitlis. Plus the winner of the second annual Westminster primary school writing competition, who will also be reading their story during the concert.
There will also be a special all-day Shepherds Markets festive food and crafts market at Cardinal Place before the concert, where attendees can discover over 25 festive stalls of Christmas gifts, artisan food, gift hampers, warming hot chocolate and more. Christmas entertainment, including carol singers, awe-inspiring walk-about artists including metallic snow queens, illuminated dancers and beautiful Arcadian stilt walkers will also be getting attendees into the festive spirit in Cardinal Place from midday.
As with every year, tickets sell out quickly and hopeful attendees are urged to snap a ticket up now to avoid missing out on the festivities. The entire £15 ticket cost will be donated to local charity the Cardinal Hume Centre, making a difference to the lives of the homeless young people, vulnerable families, refugees, asylum seekers and disadvantaged individuals that the charity supports around the Victoria community and beyond.
The celebrations won’t stop at the doors of the stunning Westminster Cathedral. Ticket holders are invited to a post-concert festive drinks reception on the roof garden of Cardinal Place. There will be complementary Christmas treats from coffee shop and wine bar Notes and Japanese-inspired restaurant Wagamama to ensure the merriment of the evening continues well after the carolling is done. With late night shopping and special offers across Victoria and Nova Food, the third instalment of Landsec’s Christmas in Victoria extravaganza is not to be missed.
