The course is based on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn. We combine that with elements derived from Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). There is a strong evidence-base for such courses and one like it is recommended by NICE to help prevent relapse of depression. The course comprises approximately 10 people working together as a group. On it, you will learn several key mindfulness practices and have the chance to discuss these and your experience of them in the group. This course is suitable for beginners and those who would like to refresh their Mindfulness practice. Home practice is an important part of the course, and each participant is recommended to try doing between 20 and 40 minutes of practice, six days per week, between each class. The course fee of £200 including VAT covers the cost of all tuition, the course workbook and audio downloads to support home practice. There are a few concessions at £150 including VAT available for students and those out of work and receiving benefits.
