What is it like to have chemotherapy? Lifestyle

what_is_it_like_to_have_chemotherapy

In this webinar we will look at the experience of having chemotherapy, and hear from people who have had chemotherapy treatment.

For some, treatment may start soon after their diagnosis, and they may not have time to come to terms with their diagnosis before starting chemotherapy. This can feel like a ‘whirlwind’, without time to physically, practically or emotionally prepare for the treatment experience.

For others it may be a long time – sometimes even years – before active treatment is needed, and they may go onto ‘active monitoring’. Sometimes the thought of having treatment at some unknown time in the future, and not knowing what to expect from treatment, can be challenging to come to terms with.

In this webinar we will look at the experience of having chemotherapy, and hear from people who have had chemotherapy treatment for their lymphoma. We will consider how to prepare for treatment, what it is like to have treatment, and look at strategies for coping with the impact of treatment.

Aims of the webinar
To help people prepare for having chemotherapy in the future, start to address any practical or emotional issues and any common questions they have.
To share some coping strategies developed by individuals who have had treatment.
For families to understand the experience of having chemotherapy, and to help manage their expectations for supporting someone through the treatment.
To help people affected by lymphoma and those supporting them to understand what services Lymphoma Action provides and how to access them (e.g. helpline services, peer support).
