OUSDEN HOUSE GARDENS WILL BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Mrand MrsRobinson have kindly agreed to open their magnificent private gardens at Ousden House this springWhen the Robinson's arrived in the village almost thirty years ago, Ousden House stood in grassy paddocks which sloped steeply from the high ground above the house right down to the ditch beside the roadThose paddocks have been transformed and visitors are invited to come and spend a leisurely afternoon wandering through the 12 acres of spectacular groundsVisitors can follow the path along the double crinkle-crankle yew hedge, meander through the Spring Wood down to the Lake, which is overlooked by Harriet Mead's beautiful sculpture of a mare and foalReturning via the Moat Garden, densely planted with Spring flowering shrubs, Irises, Caltha and some of the later DaffodilsAlternatively, visitors can stroll along the primrose bank, head down into the Stag Garden or up the bank onto the Mound to enjoy the impressive view of the surrounding landscapeNearer the house, the more energetic can climb the Victorian Clock Tower and appreciate an unusual view of the crinkle-crankle hedge from above or visit the little Norman Church just over the garden wallThe options are endless, whether you are a gardening enthusiast or simply wish to have an afternoon out, there is something for everyone
More importantly, TEAS will be available in the house, and also in the courtyard if the weather is kind
