They’ve been around the UK and Ireland to find the newest and best female comedy talent and now present the best of the bunch competing for a place in the grand final. The Funny Women Awards have left a massive impression on the UK comedy scene. Previous winners and finalists include Bridget Christie, Zoe Lyons, Sara Pascoe, Susan Calman, London Hughes, Desiree Burch, Katherine Ryan and last year’s winner, Harriet Braine, who is already making a name for herself.‘I had just started stand-up comedy when I won the award, and loads has changed since then. Funny Women provided me with lots of friends, advice, and exposure.’

Hosted by wonderful comic creation Mrs Barbara Nice, an average Stockport housewife who has given up the domestic bliss of Tupperware and Poundstretcher shops for the unpredictabilty of the comedy world. No audience is too rowdy for her to handle - she's already raised five teenagers. With the affectionate attitude of a playgoup leader at a wild Iggy Pop concert, Barbara is guaranteed to warm the heart of any audience.
