Museum of Domestic Design and Architecture, Barnet, Greater London, EN48HT

Museum of Domestic Design and Architecture: The Museum of Domestic Design & Architecture (MoDA) houses what is widely regarded as one of the worlds most comprehensive collections of nineteenth and twentieth century decorative arts for the home. MoDA is also a resource for focusing on other subjects, such as Science, Geography and problem-solving activities. MoDA is happy to provide support for teachers who wish to make imaginative use of the collections.

This exhibition asks what our living rooms, dining rooms and kitchens were like in the first half of the twentieth century, and why. Exploring Interiors aims to stimulate visitors to consider how things were and to think about what made (and still makes) 'real' rooms so individual and so different from the stereotyped 'ideal'.
