Romeo and Juliet

Nuffield Theatre, Thursday, 02 February 2012 - Saturday, 18 February 2012

Romeo and Juliet: These violent delights have violent ends

And in their triumph die -- like fire and powder

Which, as they kiss, consume.

This hot-blooded new production of the world's greatest love story is an explosive collision of youth with age, sex with death and love with tragedy.

Romeo and Juliet is our fourth co-production with Headlong following A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Winter's Tale and Edward Gant's Amazing Feats Of Loneliness. Each spring we work together to provide a talented emerging director with a main stage classic production, this year Nottingham Playhouse are also co-producing.

Headlong Theatre's recent touring productions include Earthquakes in London, A Midsummer Night's Dream and ENRON. Their latest London production was Decade, directed by Headlong Artistic Director, Rupert Goold and conceived with Associate Director Robert Icke.
