After a successful outing on the West End and an online reimagining in February, Riot Act is touring the UK this summer!
This production brings an outrageous hilarity to match its hard-hitting poignancy, exploring 6 decades of LGBTQ+ history by bringing to life the stories from three members of the LGBTQ+ rights movement: Michael-Anthony Nozzi, a survivor of the Stonewall riots; Lavinia Co-op, an alternative ‘70s drag artist; and Paul Burston, a ‘90s AIDS activist.
Produced by Alexis Gregory and Emmerson & Ward Productions, Riot Act embarks on a hybrid tour, with in person performances as well as online screenings of the digital piece accompanied.
A celebration of queer activism across the decades; pulling no punches, hilarious, moving and inspiring… It’s a riot.
Riot Act is at once frank, warm and uninhibited…a forceful reminder of the importance of knowing your history. - Evening Standard
★★★★ Verbatim theatre at its best...Gregory; a powerful presence, shows fierce awareness of his theatrical and political context. - The Stage
