City of Rochester Symphony Orchester

The Central Theatre, Saturday, 03 March 2012

3 MAR

City of Rochester Symphony Orchester: The CRSO's second concert in the season contains a fascinating mixture of English pieces written between 1899 and 1948, their musical styles encompassing Romantic, Impressionist and British folk melody. Tasmin Waley Cohen, who trained at the Royal College of Music and was the winner of the 2007 J&A Beare Bach Competition, will conjure up for us that nostalgia for peaceful English countryside and blue skies which is portrayed so perfectly by Vaughan Williams and Finzi. Elgar's musical enigma will finish the evening splendidly with heart-warming grandeur and panache.
