The Rochester Music and Drama Festival showcases amateur talent in singing, playing the piano and other instruments, acting and speaking.
We have children's and adult choirs, individual singers in classical and popular music, pianists of all abilities, from beginners to concerto standard, children and adults who play violin, flute, guitar and a whole range of other instruments. We have drama performances, with monologues, extracts from plays, and intriguing dramas invented by the competitors. To enter the event, go to our website and download the syllabus and entry forms. The deadline is February 18th 2017. But the event is just as much about the audience supporting and cheering on the performers of the future and the enthusiastic amateurs of the present. The event lasts for one day and is incredibly varied, so you are certain to find something interesting and entertaining. The Pilkington Building is an excellent venue, as it is centred on a pleasant, welcoming café which serves a variety of snacks and drinks.
