Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway: First opened to traffic in July 1927 as the Worlds Smallest Public Railway and now covering a distance of 13.5 miles from the picturesque Cinque Port of Hythe, near the channel tunnel, to the fishermans cottages and lighthouses at Dungeness.
The Heywood Buffet at New Romney Station is open from 10.00am until the last train leaves for Hythe during the season and on operating days, and on weekdays (10.00am until 2.00pm) when the railway is closed. Hot meals, snacks, confectionery and hot or cold beverages are available.
Number 15, Woody, can be found by the picnic tables between the Heywood Buffet and the turntable at New Romney station. Specially built for the young and budding engine drivers.
The playground, with its swings and slides, seesaws and climbing frames is the ideal place for children to let off steam and is adjacent to the picnic area at New Romney Station.
