Church Choir Members Wanted!: St Michael's Church Choir, Sittingbourne, is looking for new members.
We're a small choir at present, with many long-standing and experienced members, but we're always looking for new singers.
We have vacancies in all the voice parts - Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass.
We practise every Friday at St Michael's Church, and sing during the services at the church on Sunday Mornings at 10o'clock and also a Choral Evensong every 3rd Sunday of the month at 6:30pm
St Michael's is a traditional Church of England church, and the music we sing is led by an organ - but choir pieces are often unaccompanied. We sing psalms, anthems, service settings, motets etc from all periods of time, including Charles Wood, John Rutter, Stainer, Stanford, etc.
We are members of the RSCM, which means we offer the Voice for Life training scheme, where choristers work through a course with the choir trainer and can receive a medal at the end, and can even be entered for vocal exams.
