This two week course would be ideal for anyone who has a passion for filmmaking but doesn’t know where to begin.
Students will have the opportunity to follow a professional platform of film production to take a short script and develop it into a fully realised short film. The main goal of this course is to develop student’s visual storytelling skills, so they understand how to bring all aspects of filmmaking together to create the strongest film possible. These films can be used for personal portfolios, websites and be entered for short film festivals.
Over the two weeks participants will follow an abridged version of the production process, beginning in pre-production, moving into the shoot and then going into post production.
The students will be assigned roles that will rotate throughout the two weeks, ideally allowing them the opportunity to get hands on experience within all departments.
Students will have the opportunity to shoot the final film using a RED camera, and will have access to the Conservatoire’s Digital Training Unit and professional edit suites to complete the film.
As students will be working on personal and group projects throughout the course, it is suitable for a variety of learners including those who:
have never picked up a camera before
have shot short experimental videos in their personal time
are more experienced filmmakers who want to challenge themselves creatively and develop their storytelling abilities
are looking to boost their confidence and develop skills they already have
The course will provide a supportive environment for each individual learner to challenge themselves.
The deadline for booking this course is Monday 16th July 2018 at 12pm.
