Sting: 'Sting' or Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner was once lead vocalist and base player in 'The Police' until he launched his solo career after the band split.

Musician, singer-songwriter, activist, actor and philanthropist he has enjoyed a massively successful career in all these fields.

With 16 Grammys and an Oscar nomination to his name he is famed also for his involvement with the charity Amnesty International and campaigns for human rights.

His latest album was 'Symphonicities' in 2010.
