September Steaming

Bolton Steam Museum, Saturday, 08 September 2012 - Sunday, 09 September 2012

September Steaming: Volunteers from the Northern Mill Engine Society have rescued and restored 27 old stationary steam engines - some of the engines which once powered the cotton mills and woollen mills of the North of England. Most will be running in steam on these 2 days. Our collection includes 2 rare beam engines - the oldest is 180 years old! We have just rescued another very old and unusual engine. After lying in pieces in a field in Yorkshire for 30 years, its now running again . A great day out for all the family!

You'll find us at the back of Morrison's Supermarket site on Chorley Old Road, next to the petrol station.

Free admission, and free unlimited parking on the supermarket car park.
