The Drifters

The Drifters: American 'Doo-wop'/R&B group 'The Drifters' have had many different incarnations since their formation in the early 1950s.

They are believed to have had, in total, 65 different members since 1953! The two most notable periods are perhaps 'The Original Drifters' formed by Clyde McPhatter and the second version formed by George Treadwell which featured Ben E King.

Both incarnations have been separately inducted into the 'Vocal Group Hall of Fame'.

The Drifters: The Drifters line-up over the years has undergone many changes with more than 60 different singers, including icons such as Clyde McPhatter, Ben E King, Rudy Lewis and Johnny Moore.

This 2010 UK tour features many of their biggest hits, in particular from the Bell Arista era of the groups success, presented through a high energy Disco Fantasia performance, along with some lesser known - and previously unreleased - tracks recorded during this era.

Some of the groups biggest hits include classics such as Saturday Night at the Movies, There Goes My First Love, Under The Boardwalk, Can I Take You Home Little Girl, Youre More Than A Number in My Little Red Book, Love Games, Hello Happiness, On Broadway, Kissing In The Back Row and many more.

This dynamic, non-stop show combines classic songs, top flight choreography and world class musicians with some of the groups newer material from recent releases, as well as the stunning new track Do You Dream of Me?
