Vintage Gathering at Garstang
Stationary engines, commercial vehicles and classic cars gather in Garstang for the 8th Garstang Classic Vehicle Show & Steam Rally which takes place at Hamilton House, on 4th and 5th July 2009.
This 2-day summer event sees over 500 classic cars, motorbikes, vintage tractors, steam engines and old commercial vehicles, displayed by individual enthusiasts and many car clubs.
Wonderfully restored cars ranging from magnificent Rolls Royce’s, Jaguars, Sunbeams, and classic sports cars sit alongside breath-taking Aston Martins, as well as old favourites like Vauxhall, Minis and Morris Minors. For bike enthusiasts, they’ll be plenty of BSA’s, Norton’s and other vintage motorcycles.
There’s also the favourite trade stands and club displays, with exhibits from the Dormobile OC, Ford and Friends Club and Club Audi, with more clubs due to be confirmed shortly. One of the highlights of the weekend is the huge auto jumble which takes place on the Sunday.
With running commentaries and judging of classes on both days, there are plenty of competitions and prizes for exhibitors.
Organised by Woodward Classic Events Ltd, last year’s event exceeded expectations with literally thousand of visitors and this year looks set to be even better.
The 8th Garstang Classic Vehicle Show & Steam Rally opens from 10am – 4pm on Saturday 4th July and Sunday 5th July 2009. Admission prices are: Adult £6.00, Under 14’s £2.50. Weekend camping and shower facilities are available on site (Contact 01253 407779 for further details on the campsite). Hamilton House is easy to find, on the A586 between St Michaels and Garstang.
