Exploding onto the stage with the follow up to their five-star production of Romeo and Juliet, New Mutiny Theatre Company present the breath-taking world premiere of their new production, Robin Hood.
This stunning new version brings the classic story of outlaws and adventure bang up-to-date, with original music and a vibrant cast.
Set in a society divided by wealth and power, the play cavorts between the wild, chaotic freedom of Robin and his forest dwelling friends, and the rigid authoritarian regime inside the Sheriff’s Castle, where a young Maid Marian struggles with the conflict between her desire for freedom and the duty to her overbearing and protective Uncle. Mirroring the increasing divisions present within our own society, the play looks at ideas of community and family, friendship and duty, and what it really means to be a hero.
Using new music and alternate styles throughout to highlight the characters' tribal groups - think Mumford... meets Arctic Monkeys, with the warm, melodic folk-inspired soundtrack of the Merry Men clashing throughout with the heavy, industrial rock of the Sheriff, New Mutiny create a truly immersive world for all the family this Half-Term!
